Amphony is unveiling the world’s first 5.8 GHz Digital Wireless
Headphones at this year´s Consumer Electronics Show
Las Vegas, January 7, 2004 – The world’s first 5.8 GHz Digital
Wireless RF headphones are debuting at this year´s Consumer Electronics
Show, which will become the top model in Amphony’s line of digital
wireless headphones.
“The Model 2500 provides true CD quality wireless digital audio without
any audio compression as well as the same audiophile sound quality our
customers are accustomed to from our Model 2000,“ said Gunter Fellbaum,
Marketing Director at Amphony.
“By transmitting the audio signal at 5.8 GHz instead of 2.4 GHz, the Model
2500 further eliminates interference problems that may occur with other
2.4 GHz devices, such as microwave ovens, wireless networks, cordless
telephones or Bluetooth devices. Similar to our Model 2000, the Model 2500
transmitter provides true digital audio interfaces to eliminate any
unnecessary analog-to-digital or digital-to-analog conversion and to
achieve an unprecedented signal-to-noise ratio without any audio
distortion whatsoever. A noise shaping filter inside the headphones
removes any quantization noise from the audible frequency band.“
The Model 2500 has a suggested retail price of $269 and targets the
audiophile and audio professional who expect the same sound quality that
corded audiophile headphones provide without being tied down to home or
studio equipment. Amphony will also offer accessories to complement the
Model 2500, such as RangeBooster transmitters, which can extend the
operating range almost indefinitely and additional headphones that can
operate from the initial transmitter.
