Amphony expands its range of 5.8 GHz Digital Wireless Audio Transmitters to make setting up home theater systems a breeze

Berlin, February 4, 2008
Amphony is adding to its successful range of digital wireless audio transmitters the Model 1500 audio transmitter / receiver which is capable of transmitting audio to loudspeakers wireless and without any audio degradation.

"The wireless receiver can connect directly to any active loudspeakers such as the surround speakers or computer speakers and thereby eliminate the speaker cables between the DVD player or computer and loudspeakers. For high-power applications, the Model 1500 receiver can also directly connect to an audio amplifier," said Gunter Fellbaum, Marketing Director at Amphony.

"The wireless receiver receives a 5.8 GHz audio signal that is transmitted in a digital format up to 200 feet away from the transmitter. Our technology provides true CD quality wireless audio at 5.8 GHz without any audio compression and is fully immune to interference from wireless devices using the 2.4 GHz frequency band. The wireless receiver only measures 5 x 3.5 x 2 inches and is easily mountable to a speaker. The Model 1500 digital wireless audio transmitter / receiver achieves 95 dB signal-to-noise ratio, 0.006 % audio distortion and offers a frequency response of 2 Hz to 23 kHz."

The 5.8 GHz Digital Wireless Audio Transmitter / Receiver, Model 1500 set includes one stereo audio transmitter, which connects to either a line-level or an amplified speaker audio output and one wireless stereo receiver. The set has a target street price of $89. Additional receivers can be purchased separately to operate from the initial transmitter.
